About Us
Home Surveys Herts is led by brothers Paul and Michael, who together bring a strong professional foundation in construction, property development, surveying and property management. The practice operates in accordance with RICS Home Survey Standards, with surveys carried out by RICS-regulated professionals, ensuring independence, consistency and clarity for clients.
Both directors are also members of the Chartered Institute of Building, reflecting a recognised standard of competence and professionalism within the construction industry. This combined surveying and construction-led background allows Home Surveys Herts to provide practical, experience based advice grounded in a clear understanding of how buildings are designed, constructed, altered and maintained over time.

Paul Willcock

Director
Paul began his career in retail management, developing strong organisational, leadership and customer-focused skills before transitioning into the construction industry. He went on to progress into construction management for a firm based in London, where he was involved in delivering a range of refurbishment and development projects.
Alongside this, Paul entered the property development market at 21, working with Michael to acquire, develop and manage residential and commercial properties for both rental and resale. This hands-on experience has been complemented by ongoing involvement in property management, giving Paul a practical understanding of buildings not just at the point of purchase, but throughout their lifecycle.
This combined background in construction, development and property management underpins Paul’s approach to surveying, allowing him to provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients based on real-world experience rather than theory alone.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys skiing, tennis and playing the piano (enthusiasm exceeding ability), and is always on the lookout for new business ventures and opportunities.
Michael Willcock

Director
After completing his degree at Liverpool John Moores University, Michael entered the construction industry at the deep end, working for an established main contractor in the City where he managed a wide range of projects including new builds, refurbishments and commercial fit-outs.
Having entered the property development market at just 21, Michael and Paul have since gone on to develop properties for both rental and resale, regularly converting commercial buildings into HMOs and focusing on maximising the potential of each asset.
Following a long and varied career in construction and development, moving into surveying was a natural progression. Michael now applies this hands-on experience to provide practical, well-informed advice to home buyers, whether they are purchasing their first property or moving up the property ladder.
Outside of work, Michael is a former Royal Marines Reservist and enjoys the outdoors, boxing, football, and spending time with his young family.
